Capitalism and Imperialism have created a world ravaged by perpetual war and on the verge of ecological meltdown. Unprecedented wealth is concentrated in the hands of a tiny minority while half of humanity lives on less than $2 a day. Blair spends billions on occupation and war, but charges us for our education. His barrage of Islamophobia and onslaught on civil liberties have whipped up racism and criminalised communities. Join the resistance. A huge movement has arisen, declaring that ‘another world is possible’. From the streets of Seattle and Genoa to the global anti-war demonstrations in February 2003 and the European Social Forum in London at the end of 2004 millions of people are resisting and beginning to sow the seeds of a better world. A whole new generation of activists has emerged in a way not seen since the 1960s. SWSS believes another world is both possible and necessary, a world run by ordinary people in the interests of ordinary people. We believe that only the activity of millions can transform the world to create a socialist society. Today there is huge potential for the movement to succeed. Across the world there is global resistance to war and neo-liberalism, on the streets, in colleges and workplaces. The whole system is being shaken - by uniting and coming together we have the power to smash capitalism and imperialism. SWSS stands in solidarity with Muslims facing racist discrimination and has campaigned as part of Unite Against Fascism, stopping the BNP from getting elected to the European Parliament. SWSS has been at the forefront of the fight against Fees, and demands that Blair spends money on education, not war. The early successes of Respect are giving a voice to the millions who feel disenfranchised. We
believe that organisation makes each one of us stronger in the fight
for socialism. That is why we hope youll join us. |
