Practicalities
Tickets– Box Office 2nd floor, ULU
A ticket office will be open during Marxism where tickets can be bought for the whole event or for particular days or sessions. You can also collect pre-paid tickets.
At peak times on Friday, Saturday and Sunday you will be able to get tickets from the box office in the Institute of Education (level 3).
Box office opening times:
- Thurs: 12 noon – 11pm
- Fri, Sat& Sun: 9.15am – 7.30pm
- Mon: 9.15am – 5pm
Accommodation
If you have requested free
accommodation at Marxism and have
any queries relating to it you should visit
the accommodation office on the
second floor of ULU.
If you no longer need
accommodation or do but did not
request it please contact the office as
soon as possible.

- Fri: 9.15am – 10pm
- Sat & Sun: 9.15 – 10.30am, 1 – 2pm & 5 – 7pm
Creche
Children 5 – 11 years: in the Drama Studio
on Friday, and the Elvin Hall on Saturday,
Sunday and Monday.
Children under 5: Room 3A & B in ULU.
Creche opening times:

1.45 – 5.15pm & 6.45 – 8.45pm - Fri, Sat& Sun: (all children)
Morning 9.30am – 1.15pm
Afternoon 1.45 – 5.15pm
Evening 6.45 – 8.45pm - Mon: 9.30am – 1.15pm &
1.45 – 5.15pm
Bar Areas and Children
Anyone under the age of 18 years will be
allowed in the Gallery and Bar 101 areas
until 7pm. These bars will not be open to
serve alcohol during the day.
After 7pm the bars will be open to
serve alcohol and no one under the
age of 18 years will be allowed in the first
floor areas.
Anyone under the age of 18 will not
be allowed in the Duck & Dive bar at
any time.
Luggage and Lost Property
The luggage room is on the second floor of ULU. Please note all luggage is left at
owners risk so please keep all valuables
with you. Any lost property should be
reported to Marxism Box Office.

- Sat: 9.15am – 1am
- Sun: 9.15am – 10.30pm
- Mon: 9am – 5.30pm

Institute of Education
Hot food and snacks
Institute Student Union cafe 8am – 10pm every day.
Bar
Monday & Thursday 11am – 11pm;
Friday & Saturday 11am – 12 midnight;
Sunday 12 noon – 10.30pm.
ULU
Hot meals and snacks
Duck & Dive bar 11am – 11pm
The Gallery 12 noon – 3pm & 5pm – 7pm.
Snacks
The Lunchbox 8.30am – 8.30pm.
Bars
Duck & Dive 11am – 11pm, except
on Friday and Saturday (open until 1am)
and Sunday (open until 10.30pm).
The Gallery bar opens after 7pm.
Wheelchair Access
All venues are wheelchair accessible with the exception of the Institute of Education Balcony.
Marxism Team
If you have any problems during Marxism
2006, please approach a member of the
Marxism team – they can be identified by
their distinctive t-shirts.
Meeting Places
There are regional meeting places so that you can arrange to meet friends and comrades from particular areas. London, International, South, West, Wales and East Anglia in the Institute bar. Scotland, North and Midlands in ULU.
Prayer Room
SOAS Islamic society will kindly be hosting the prayer room at Marxism 2006. The women’s prayer room is located on the Brunei Gallery first floor. The men’s is in the main SOAS building basement next to L67– report to reception, say you are guests of an I-soc sponsored event and you will be given a pass to go in.
